The circular economy concept is being widely studied as a possible path to a sustainable development.
By keeping material resources in our economy as long as possible, primary raw material demand as well as waste generation, and associated environmental impacts should be reduced.
To what extent a circular economy can actually contribute to a more sustainable use of resources and which challenges are to be tackled in this regard was subject of the
International Symposium  “Science to Support Circular Economy” on 19th September 2018 in Vienna.

The Christian Doppler Laboratory for Anthropogenic Resources and CEC4Europe invited leading scientists from various European countries to present and discuss their latest research results. Around 100 international guests followed the invitation and participated in fruitful discussions
